Mercy offers complete care for moms and babies
When the Sisters of Mercy first began their healthcare ministry more than 100 years ago in Sacramento, they started a legacy of care in meeting the needs of women and children.
Mercy San Juan Medical Center continues that commitment to excellence by providing comprehensive services that offer care for all stages of life - from prenatal care and pediatric services, to support and education for women.
Mercy San Juan is nationally recognized for its care of mothers and their newborns. The birth of a baby is a miracle and our doctors and nurses in the
Family Birth Center
are there to ensure you receive the compassionate care your family deserves. In addition to your doctor and labor nurse, a respiratory therapist and an additional nurse will be present at every birth to check over your baby and make sure your baby's first breaths are clear ones.
If you experience a high-risk pregnancy, Mercy San Juan doctors have the know-how and technology you need. Our perinatologists use the latest in real-time 3-D ultrasound equipment to give you an amazing glimpse of your baby-to-be. In the event of a premature birth, our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) has the specially-trained doctors and nurses, along with the state-of-the-art equipment, to care for every need of the tiniest of newborns.
For all new moms, lactation consultants are available to answer any questions you may have about breast-feeding and, if you choose, our newborn nursery gives you an opportunity to get some rest between feedings.
Mercy San Juan also has a 14-bed Pediatric Concentrated Care Unit for children who are more acutely ill and need more specialized care and monitoring.
