The Mercy Women's Center provides education and services to the entire community. Wellness programs, childbirth and parenting classes, lactation services and a variety of support groups are offered, as well as programs aimed at preventing domestic violence and perinatal substance abuse.

 

Childbirth & Parenting Education
Childbirth preparation and parenting classes are offered not only at the Mercy Women's Center, but at Mercy hospitals as well. Classes offered include healthy pregnancy, childbirth preparation, sibling preparation, breastfeeding, infant care and child safety. Lactation services include group classes, private lactation consults and breast pump sales and rental stations located at most Mercy hospitals. 

Perinatal Recovery Network
Through counseling and education, Mercy offers help and hope to mothers and expectant mothers who have suffered from alcohol or drug abuse and are seeking a new start in life.

Sweet Success
This physician-referred program addresses nutritional, medical and psychological issues concerning diabetes and pregnancy. The program is designed for pregnant women with diabetes, diabetic women planning a pregnancy and women who develop diabetes during pregnancy to ensure healthy pregnancy outcomes.

Mothering of Mothers
This program helps Medi-Cal-eligible women - many of whom are young, single mothers - care for themselves and their newborns.
